Longshade's Singapore F.A.Q
FAQ's
We bring sample products and fabrics to you, so you could get a consultation in your home. You can touch materials, compare colors, and you can make decisions in the same light and space where you will use the products and how they look against your walls and trim. We walk each room with you and talk through what you need most, like privacy, glare control, heat reduction, or a cleaner look. We can provide some indoor and outdoor space renovation proposals for your reference during this visit. You also get a clear price while we are there with absolutely no pressure to buy. We know the last thing you want when someone comes into your home is pressure to buy.
You do not need to guess sizes or measure on your own. We measure your windows and balconies during the consultation, using precise measurements that match the product you choose. Then you get a quote during this visit. The quote is designed to be clear and easy to compare, so you can see pricing associated with your actual selections and your actual sizes. You can also ask to price multiple options if you want to compare looks or performance. By the end of our appointment, you will have clarity on your requirements, the pricing, and our next steps. There is no pressure for you to decide right away.

Installation
Your project will be installed by our professional installation team. We ensure precise fitting and smooth operation of all products. Installation is the final step in a simple process: consultation, measuring and quote, then installation. On installation day, our team will install your products area by area and test for smooth operation prior to departure. For motorized products, we will show you how to use the controls. Feel free to ask any questions while our installers are on site. By the end of the day, you will know exactly how to operate your new products and understand their normal working performance.
Prep makes installation faster and protects your belongings. Clear access to each window or opening. Move furniture back a few feet. Remove items from sills and nearby shelves. Take down fragile decor near the work area. If you have pets, plan to keep them in another room while the installers come in and out. If you are installing patio screens or outdoor shade products, move patio furniture away from the mounting area so the team can work safely and keep lines straight. If you want remotes mounted or stored in a specific place, decide that ahead of time so everything ends up where you will use it daily.
You get protection that is built for long-term ownership. We provide clear warranty coverage for your shades:
- 2-year full warranty for fabric and aluminium tracks
- 5-year manufacturer warranty on motors for motorised units
- Free on-site repair for all manufacturing defects within the warranty period
We also offer lifetime after-sales support. Once the warranty expires, only the cost of replacement parts will be charged for any service.
If you notice any issues such as a shade that won’t lift smoothly or an unresponsive motor, please contact us promptly. We will troubleshoot and advise the next steps to keep your products working as expected.
Outdoor Products
Start with what you want to solve. Do you want shade and heat control, insect protection, or privacy on demand? Zip blinds can be fully motorized and built to handle real outdoor use. You can choose fabric colours and openness factors to match your view and privacy level. Wind performance matters too. If your opening is exposed, ask about a solution designed for stronger wind conditions. During your consultation, you can compare options based on your opening size, how often you will use the zip blind, and how much protection you need against sun, insects, and windy weather.
A motorized louvered pergola gives you control over sun and airflow. You can open the louvers to let light in and keep the space breezy. You can close the louvers when you want more shade or when weather moves in. Many systems are designed to close tight to help create a weather-resistant seal, which can help keep your outdoor living area more usable during light to moderate rain. The biggest benefit is flexibility. You can change the roof position in seconds instead of committing to a fixed shade structure. Your consultant will help you match the roof style and layout to how you use your patio each week.
Permit and MCST requirements depend on your property, product and project design. Some areas require approval for attached structures or projects with size, height or setback limits, and many MCSTs ask to review an application, drawings and colour details. Check with your MCST or relevant authority before proceeding; we can provide product information for their review. Aluminium pergola systems are designed for outdoor conditions and resist rust and warping better than many wood options. The service life of a pergola or zip blind depends on the selected system, exposure and maintenance. With routine cleaning and normal care, both can provide long-term performance. Ask us for the warranty and care guidance for your chosen product.
Indoor Products
Choose shades based on function first, then style. Bedrooms usually need stronger light control for sleep. Living rooms often need glare control without making the room feel dark. Street-facing windows often need privacy during the day and at night. We help you compare options in your home, using real samples and fabrics so you can see the difference right away. You can also consider energy comfort. Some shade styles are designed to help insulate and reduce heat gain. The goal is a match that looks right and works right for daily life. When you are choosing, focus on light control, privacy level, ease of use, and how the fabric looks against your paint and trim.
Both options give you strong light control and a classic look. The main difference is how they handle moisture and daily wear. Wood blinds give you natural grain and a warm finish that looks great in living rooms, offices, and dining spaces. Faux wood blinds give you the same style but with added resistance to humidity and moisture. That makes faux wood a smart choice for bathrooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and any space where steam or splashes are common. During your consultation, you can compare finishes side by side so you see how each slat looks in your lighting. You also get help choosing a lift style and control option that fits your routine.
Motorized shades are worth it if you want convenience and consistency every day. You can open and close shades with a remote or automation, which is especially helpful for tall windows, wide spans, or rooms with multiple windows. Motorization also supports a cleaner look because you reduce cords and manual handling. Power options vary by product, but many systems use battery power, which keeps installation simple and reduces the need for new wiring. During your install, you will learn how to use the controls and how to maintain the system so it stays reliable. If you want a set-and-forget routine, motorization is one of the most noticeable upgrades you can make.
